I love a good smelling house.  I love walking in, taking a deep breath, and feeling at home.  You can set the mood in your home just by the scents.  Whether you are looking for a romantic feel, a relaxing and calming atmosphere, or fresh baked cookies or apple pie.  There are scents out there for everything.  I use to be a candle junkie.  There was always a candle burning somewhere in my house.  I still enjoy burning a good smelling candle but then I found Scentsy.  Now I find myself turning that warmer on every morning as soon as I get up.  I LOVE Scentsy.  You get amazing smells at a fraction of the cost AND since it’s a warmer, there are no flames.   They are much safer around kids and pets.  If you haven’t discovered it yet, I highly suggest checking it out here.

I have a few favorite scents but love to change things up.  I’ve recently discover simmering different spices on the stove top.  I can remember growing up, my mom use to do this often.  I’ve done the oranges and cinnamon, cloves, and a few others.  I love the strong scent this gives off but it’s not something I want to do everyday or all day long due to it being over an open flame.  However, I discover a new one and had to share.  I’m a little addicted to this one and it’s a good thing I don’t keep lemons in the house or this might be simmering everyday right now.

lemon

Here’s what I use;

1 cup of water

2 sliced lemons

3 springs of fresh rosemary

2 teaspoons of vanilla

Within 5 minutes of simmering on the stove, the whole house smells amazing!!  I love it.  Now I just need to find a Scentsy scent like this……

Struggle with getting your whites really white when you wash them?  I tried this recipe the other day and added it to my load of whites…….Results!!  I noticed a difference.  Give this a try on your next load of whites.

Like your whites really white?

Like your whites really white?

Here’s what you need;

HOT HOT HOT water
1 cup of laundry detergent
1 cup powdered dish washer detergent
1 cup bleach
1/2 cup borax

Dump it into your washer with HOT water.  One thing to remember is to add the above ingredients to as small a load size as possible. You are looking for CONCENTRATED cleaning power, and the more water you have in the tub, the less concentrated it will be.  Shoot for BARELY enough water to cover the clothes.

Happy washing!
