Super Manic Monday

Today kicks off the re-launch of our Journey to Fit blog and new schedule.  We are super excited to bring lots of new things your way.

Today is also the beginning of relaunch my commitment to continuing to improve my health.  I had to take some time off for working out due to a surgery in March.  While my recovery was a little more longer than I expected, I’m now ready to refocus and challenge myself to reach some goals I’ve set for myself.

This week as I restart things, I’m challenging myself to walking 2 miles, 6 days this week.  3 days of yoga for 45 minutes each day and 3 days of working out with the weights.  I also want to reach my daily water intake goal of 100 ozs of water.

Not only will we be bringing you more blog posting with tips, ideas, recipes, and more information but I will also be blogging about my journey to lose weight and reach my goals.  All of it.  The good, the bad, and the really ugly!  The struggles, the joys, and what I’m eating.

So follow the Journey to Fit.  Like us, follow us, share us, and check back often to see what’s new.  We look forward to sharing the journey with you.

Until next time, stop and smell the flowers, don’t let life flash before your eyes!

Random update…

I realized it’s been a little while since I’ve given an update on my weight loss journey.  My first 90 Day Challenge has come to an end.  My goal was to lose 25 pounds.  Well, I didn’t get to 25 pounds BUT I did lose 22 pounds.  So 3 pounds short of my goal.  While some people may have been disappointment, I am not.  I’m super excited I got that far.  Especially since I was making the life style changes over the holidays.  AND I did spend 15 days on an antibiotic which did put a little damper on things.  However, even with the curve balls life throws at us on a daily bases, I still made progress on this journey.

I’m getting ready to start my 2nd 90 Day Challenge.  I’ve trying to figure out what my goals should be.  I want to challenge myself a little more this time.  I still want to have a weight loss goal as I’ve set myself a goal to lose 50 pounds by December 31st, 2013.  So this time around here’s where my goals are at;

  1. Lose another 20 pounds
  2. Workout 4 days per week
  3. Become better at practicing Yoga at least 2 days per week
  4. Offer my body a day of rest once a week
  5. Continue to improve with healthy cooking
  6. Explore and learn about clean eating.

I love where we are at in life right now.  We have made a lot of positive changes over the last year.  Our health is improving, we are losing weight, we are healthier, and continuing to grow and learn more about improving our healthy lifestyle.  It’s important to always be learning and growing.

On a side note, my husband and I are getting ready to start our 2nd 90 Day Challenge.  We are looking for more people to join us.  The excitement of having others to talk to, vent, celebrate, and everything else that comes along on the journey is so much more fun.  Join us.  There are many perks and reasons to try the 90 Day Challenge.  Ask us, we’ll give you all the information you need to make an educated decision about joining us.

Always get up and try again.

Always get up and try again.

Looking forward to the next Challenge………

Happy 2013!

Well, it’s been away since I’ve been here.  Thanksgiving rolled around and life started to spin crazy out of control.  All in a positive way…..but very busy with lots of holiday and family fun.

I haven’t updated on my challenge, but it had continued.  I happy to report I am down 18 pounds since starting and I continue to feel great!!  I survived the holidays and enjoyed foods I like.  Between December 22nd and January 1st, I only gained 1 pound!  I was pretty stoked!!!  Especially since the average person gains 8-12 pounds.

I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on 2012 and plan for 2013.  I can’t wait to continue this journey and see even more results.  My big goal this year is to be down 50 pounds by December 31st, 2013.  There is also lots of plans to improve Journey to Fit and continue to help others reach their goals.

I’m super excited to “launch” this new year and can’t wait to see all the exciting things unfold.  If at any time, you have any questions, PLEASE contact us and let us know.  We are here to help YOU!  Stay tuned for exciting things ahead…..

Happy 2013!!

Tone, Tighten, & Firm!
She LOVED her results from her first wrap.

Celebrating success today!!  With chilly weather moving in, over the weekend I decided to dig out some fall clothes.  I’ve done some major cleaning out over the last 9 months because of our move.  I donated a ton of clothes and got rid of stuff I haven’t wore in a few years.  However, I have a tote of clothes that I’ve saved “hoping” to one day SOON get into them.  I was motivated to work out and lose weight when I was doing all this cleaning out so these clothes were ones I told myself, “When it comes time to pull these out in the fall, I WILL FIT INTO THEM!”  I found this tote on Sunday.  I opened it and looked at all the clothes.  I stood there starring at them.  I wanted to try them on but that fear of disappointment was winning the battle.  I had NO desire to try them on and be disappointed they didn’t fit.  I really was not in the mood to deal with that.

Well, after a few minutes, I finally got up the courage to do it after I had pulled on a pair of black cotton pants from last year and much to my surprise, they were a little baggy!  OKAY!  I got this.  Time to try on a few shirts that I had not wore in almost 3 years.  I pull out the first shirt and think, “Oh this is gonna suck!”  I start to feel a strong feeling of disappointment as I pull the shirt over my head and walk into my closet where my full length mirror is………

WAIT A MINUTE!!  HOLD the phone!!  What do I see??

I see SUCCESS!!!!  It fits!!  AMAZING!!  WOW!!  Well, crap.  I’ve got to try on the other shirts.  I try on 4 more shirts and while 3 of them fit well, the 4th shirt was a “What were you thinking??” shirt and it went in a bag to be donated.  BUT, a successful try on!

The excitement was perfect timing.  Although I enjoy walking and for the most part I am liking my workouts, a bit of disappointment and frustration had set in.  I needed this.  I’m so glad I tried those shirts on AND my blue jeans that are also baggy.  While friends can encourage you and support you…..seeing the results is what keeps you going.  It’s the simple things like this that renew your push to keep going!  I’ve got the WANT back this week and have made it through 2 killer workouts!!

Here’s to more awesome results!!

Celebrate YOUR success!
